About this site

In this website, I want to present the results of my own research in the field of linguistics. My main interests are descriptive and historical-comparative studies of Austronesian languages, and also Native American languages.

The reason for presenting my research here in a self-published format is not that I want to join the ranks of the cranks who promote outlandish theories on the web that will never pass peer-reviewed scrutiny. It is rather a matter of limited time and resources (due to my full-time job outside of linguistic research), which do not allow me to write down my results in more than just a preliminary and sometimes even fragmentary manner. For a few topics, I have been able to expand them into full working papers, and I will successively make them available on my Academia.edu account, and also submit them to peer-reviewed journals.

In spite of the admittedly sketchy nature of these posts, I am fully commited to their content, and I invite my readers to discuss them, quote them, criticize them or rip them apart. So far, I am happy about the supportive response that I have received, but if you find anything that is objectionable, I gladly await your comments and suggestions!
